Highveld Owner of the Week: St John D Gray
St John Gray is an owner, trainer and breeder and this week he has been selected as the ROA Owner of the Week. 10 February was a good day at Vaal Racecourse for Gray. He kicked off by winning the first race with Just a Memory ridden by Anathi Fene in a Work Riders Maiden Plate over 1600 metres. This three year old colt was bred at Graystone Stud – Bezrin (USA) – To remember by Spectrum (IRE). Gray followed up this win with several places during the course of the day and finished in fine style with Sound of Hounds winning a MR80 Handicap over 1400 metres ridden by Marco van Rensburg which was the 8 th race on the card. This winner was another product of Graystone Stud – Bezrin (USA) – Watta Fox by Elliodor (FR). He has had two wins from two starts.
