Danie Toerien – Mathew de Kock, in partnership with Cranbourne-based trainer Robbie Griffiths, made a very decent start to his training career in Australia when both his first two runners finished fourth in their respective races at Geelong on Wednesday.
“It would have been nice to have a winner, but the fact that both horses ran in the money – one in a stakes race – is a great start,” De Kock told Andrew Bensley, Sky Sports Radio Journalist in Australia, shortly after the meeting had concluded.
“Both ran extremely well and we are really proud of them.”
The partnership has three runners at Ballarat on Thursday and another three at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
