Wayne Kieswetter was a happy man last week collecting three victories over two days to earn the EC
Owner of the Week Award. On 7 February, he won a Maiden Plate over 1200 metres at Fairview on
the poly with Scented Garden, a three year filly, bred at Highlands Stud – Pathford (USA) – Scented
Samantha by National Assembly (Can). This first timer is from the Alan Greeff stable and was ridden
by Greg Cheyne. Kieswetter followed this up at Kenilworth on 8 February when winning with Still
Tappin who started favourite. Still Tappin who has been placed in every start prior to winning this
Maiden Plate over 1600 metres, is from the Eric Sands stable and was bred at Highlands Stud – Tapit
– Rootham Triple “E’s (Can) by Weather Warning (USA). The 6 th race on the card also went his way
when three time winner Water Spirit from the Brett Crawford stable, won a 94 Divided Handicap
over 1500 metres. This four year old filly was also bred at Highlands Stud – Jackson – Undine –
Western Winter (USA). Both WC winners had Anton Marcus in the saddle.
