Her owners might be from the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal but there is no doubt that home for the four year-old filly Star Burst Galaxy is at Fairview in Port Elizabeth.
There was a recent change of owners for Star Burst Galaxy and she did not wait long before she gave Cape-based Etienne Braun and Paul Loomes of KwaZulu-Natal something to cheer about.
Star Burst Galaxy won the R150 000 Listed Lady’s Pendant over 1200m against strong opposition in fine style on the Fairview grass track on Friday 23rd February.
Tara Laing is the winning trainer and describes Braun and Loomes as “staunch owners” in her yard. Laing also did an interesting victory dance on the Fairview smokers’ balcony when Star Burst Galaxy arrived at the winning post.
Last month Star Bust Galaxy was third in the Listed Lady’s Bracelet and is enjoying a great season.
Bred by Ian Heyns, Star Burst Galaxy has now won seven races with 12 places for stakes of nearly R600 000.
