Maine Chance Farms (Nominee: Dr WA and Mrs Jacobs) had two winners at Kenilworth on 7 February. The first was the Dean Kannemeyer trained Alzerra in the 4th race, a Maiden Plate over 1800 metres – this four year old filly had produced five consecutive seconds before producing this fine victory. She was bred at Maine Chance – Jay Peg – A Bear (USA) by Slew City Slew (USA).

Three year old filly One Way Ticket was their second winner on the day in a FM68 Divided Handicap (F&M) over 1600 metres producing back to back victories. She was bred by Mr W J Engelbrecht – Jet Master – Dame Kiri by Flaming Rock (IRE) and is from the Kotzen stable.

Earlier in the week on 4 February at Kenilworth, Justin Snaith trained Provenance (owned in partnership with E Lawlor, John Magnier, N Dagle) produced a win in her third start, a Maiden Plate (F&M) over 1200 metres.   She was bred by Normandy Stud – Dynasty – Next Generation by Centenary (USA).

Four year old gelding Tom Strong bred at Maine Chance Silvano (GERM) – Tetre Rouge by French Stress (USA) won a Maiden Plate over 1200 metres at Fairview. He ran placed in his first start and produced a win in the second. Tom Strong is trained by Mr R du Plessis and was ridden by Muzi Yeni.
