Patient owners and a consistent sprinter is a winning combination at Fairview.

The five year-old gelding Juan Two Three has been ultra-consistent, notching up his tenth win (from 19 starts) on Friday 15 June when he won a Pinnacle Stakes over 1200m on the Fairview Polytrack.

Champion trainer Alan Greeff explained that Juan Tow Three would probably not have such a fine record if his owners, Celso and Lee Scribante, were not as patient.

Their patience helped Greeff to pick the right races for Juan Two Three, in the process skipping a few obvious races, and keeping him at his peak for a long period.

Although Cape Town jockey Greg Cheyne and Juan Two Three form a formidable combination, Greeff was full of praise for the work that jockey Charles Ndlovu does with Juan Two Three at the stables.

Greeff describes Juan Two Three as “a real soldier and a genuine horse”.

Cheyne has been involved with seven of the ten wins.

“It is a pleasure to be associated with this top horse. The stable is really doing a fine maintenance job with Juan Two Three,” Cheyne said.

The patience of Celso and Lee Scribante was further rewarded at Friday’s meeting when their horses, Piera and Hashtagselfie, took the first two places in a FM 64 Handicap for fillies and mares.
