The Sun Met might be the Western Cape’s biggest race day but the Eastern Cape played their part on Saturday (27th Jan) at Kenilworth in Cape Town.

Many big role players in East Cape racing was at Kenilworth to play their respective important roles on the day.

After doing duty at the meeting in Port Elizabeth on Friday the very competent Fairview tote operators were in action at Kenilworth to help customers with their bets on the big day.

The ladies flew back to Port Elizabeth on Sunday and straight away took up their duties in the totes of the Friendly City again.

The Fairview ladies received the thumps up from the Kenilworth patrons. Regular Kenilworth punters James Strauss and Mark Mofu described the PE contingent as “real stars”.

Another PE lady that was a real star is the two year old filly Carlita that nearly won the Listed Tattersalls Summer Juvenile Stakes on Saturday for the Eastern Cape.

Carlita, a R35 000 KZN Yearling Sale graduate, took the second spot for the East Cape’s champion trainer Alan Greeff. Carlita is owned by Alan and his wife Glennifer in partnership with Ashley Fortune.
