The sprinter Villa Del Largo can become the third horse that earns a million rand in prize money while stabled in Port Elizabeth.

Villa Del Largo earned most of his money in Cape Town but has become a huge favourite of the Fairview crowd over the last few years.

Hear The Drums was Port Elizabeth’s first equine millionaire, mostly campaigning at Fairview and Arlington. He was followed by Surfin’ USA that finished his racing career in PE like Villa Del Largo will be doing.

Villa Del Largo is not finished yet and he picked up another cheque on Friday when running fifth in the Glendore Sprint.

Jallad’s son, trained at Justin Snaith’s satellite yard, has now won R983 375 from his 59 starts. He was a R750 000 purchase at the National Yearling Sale and is owned by Fred Crabbia, a huge supporter of PE racing for many years now.

The Glendore Sprint was won by Omega Onslaught, another one of the fine sprinters that has been winning PE’s big races in recent times for Mayfair Speculators.
