Despite there being no feature race, Kenilworth’s Tuesday’s race meeting produced competitive racing with a few blue blooded thoroughbreds putting up eye catching performances.

Richard Fourie, who partnered Elusive Heart to a front running win in Saturday’s G3 Vasco Prix Du Cap, continues to ride out of his skin, with Fourie booting home three more winners at the mid-week meeting.

However, standout performance of the day came in the form of two-year-old filly Nous Voila who made a winning debut over 1000m for trainer Candice Bass-Robinson and the Niarchos family. The daughter of Judpot accounted for another regally related filly in the form of Canukeepitsecret –whose full sisters All Is Secret and The Secret Is Out both won Gr1 races at two-by a 1.25 lengths, with third place finisher European Roller beaten over five lengths by the winner.

Connections are said to be aiming Nous Voila at the G1 Allan Robertson Championship later in the year. Whatever her future holds, Nous Voila lacks nothing in pedigrees- by a successful sire in Judpot, the debut winner is out of a daughter of the great sire Street Cry (sire of current SA sensation Oh Susanna) and Storm Cat sired French champion Denebola.

Another horse with a tremendous pedigree to win on the day was the Eric Sands trained Streak Of Silver, who received a superb ride from Richard Fourie to win the fifth of the day.
Racing in the famed brown and white Beck silks, the gelded five-year-old is a son of multiple champion sire Silvano and the outstanding producer Alignment. The latter is not only dam of G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes winner, and Highlands Stud sire, Potala Palace, but she is granddam of two major international graded winners in the form of Excellent Result (G3 Dubai City Of Gold) and Midnight Crossing (G3 Robert J Frankel Stakes) respectively.

Another Tuesday winner sporting an eye catching pedigree was Chatuchak who justified 16-10 tote favouritism when romping to a clear cut 1.75 length maiden win for Andre Nel and Sabine Plattner. The 3yo colt, who had been second at his last two starts, is a son of ill-fated champion first crop sire Tiger Ridge, and multiple G1 winner, and Equus Champion Rat Burana.

The latter captured both the G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship and G1 SA Fillies Sprint for prominent owner –breeder Mary Slack during her ten race career.
