Consistent three-year-old filly Rose In Bloom looks the horse to beat in Saturday’s G3 Vasco Prix Du Cap.
The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight, who belongs to an outstanding crop of 3yo fillies, was a close up third to the outstanding Snowdance in the G1 Klawervlei Majorca Stakes last time out and looks the horse to beat on that run.

Just once unplaced in 11 outings, Rose In Bloom is looking for her first graded win but did win the Listed Irridescence Stakes last season and should be ideally suited to the 1400m of Saturday’s race.

Her biggest rivals could be fellow 3yos Miss Katalin and Elusive Heart, with the former looking to make it three wins on the bounce on Saturday. She was beaten, however, by Rose In Bloom by two lengths when the pair met in the G2 Western Cape Fillies Championship and should be held on that effort.
Elusive Heart, the only horse to beat the brilliant Snowdance thus far, impressed when winning over 1400m two starts back and should enjoy the step back up to 1400m having finished unplaced in the Sophomore Sprint over 1000m last time out.

Goodtime Gal is the top rated of the older fillies and mares but looks held on her run behind Rose In Bloom in the Majorca, where she finished  nearly five lengths.

Rose In Bloom also holds Prix Du Cap runners Seattle Gold, Louisiana, and Final Judgement on her Majorca third.

Talented but temperamental five-year-old Captain’s Flame was second, to champion Just Sensual, in last year’s Prix Du Cap and she does enjoy the 1400m trip of Saturday’s race. She also looks held by Miss Katalin, although the latter is 2.5kgs worse off with Captain’s Flame on Saturday for their last meeting.

Lightly raced four-year-old Love  To Boogie is a very well bred filly, who will be making just her seven start on Saturday. The Trippi filly, who made a winning return after a lengthy lay-off, does try the 1400m trip for a first time and does face a considerable jump in class.

Former Winter Oaks winner Whose That Girl has a poor draw to overcome and needs to improve on her last effort which saw her beat just three home in the G1 Cartier Paddock Stakes. She may also be best over further.
