The Candice Bass-Robinson trained Marinaresco is set to continue his career overseas for owners Mike Bass, Fred Green, Bryn Ressell and Marsh Shirtliff.
South African Equus Champion 3yo Colt/Gelding of 2015-2016, Marinaresco was last seen out when a fast finishing third, to Oh Susanna and Last Winter, in the 2018 G1 Sun Met last month.

Marinaresco is likely to go into quarantine in the middle of February and will travel, via Mauritius, to Mike de Kock’s yard in Newmarket.

No definite plans have been outlined for the son of Silvano, but he could compete in Hong Kong, Singapore and or Dubai in the not too distant future.

Bred by Mauritzfontein, Marinaresco made history when his trainer Candice Bass-Robinson became the first female trainer to land the July, when the diminutive Marinaresco won the 2017 Vodacom Durban July. The pint sized bay had been an unlucky loser when just touched off, by The Conglomerate in the 2016 July.

(Last Winter, who beat Marinaresco in the Met this year, could also be sent to race overseas).
Out of the stakes placed Fort Wood mare Gay Fortuna, Marinaresco has won six of his 22 outings and banked R5 619 800 in prize money.
