Our Eastern Cape Owner of the Week Award went to Dr Ashley Parker who won the first two races
at Fairview on 21 February. Delicasea (owned in partnership with L Dotwana and BJ Keevy) was first
past the post in a Juvenile Plate over 1000 metres after starting favourite. She has had two wins
from two starts. Delicasea is from the Alan Greeff stable and was ridden by Greg Cheyne. She was
bred at Ascot Stud – Global View (USA) – Caviar by Var (USA). The next race, a Maiden Plate over
1000 metres also went to Dr Parker when Arabian Quest (owned in partnership with ID Moodie,
Elrene van Antwerpen) started at 35/1 and won by a short head. Gavin Smith was the successful
trainer with Marco van Rensburg in the saddle. Dr Parker (Ascot Stud) was the breeder – Dynasty –
Arabian Jazz (Aus) by Danehill Dancer (Ire).
